How has RGI and Samantha’s Gift of Hope changed your lives?

I cannot express my gratitude enough for both RGI and Samantha’s Gift of Hope as they together have provided us with the opportunity and path to becoming parents. The care of Dr. Maseelall and her team at RGI made us feel comfortable and confident in an uncertain journey. The grant from Samantha’s Gift of Hope was an incredible gift and lifted a financial burden allowing us to focus on completing our IVF procedures.

Becoming recipients of Samantha’s Gift of Hope has left a lasting impression on us as well. We have been re-energized in helping to show the good in the world and we both pledge to pay it forward after receiving such a fortunate gift.

We would not have had the kind of positive experience that we did, if not for both RGI and Samantha’s Gift of Hope. Both have been truly life changing for us and we cannot wait to become parents!

What advice would you give to couples who are considering IVF?

Do as much research beforehand as you can. That includes the IVF procedures, how it works, and the coverage you may or may not have from health insurance. Another large part is to research the kind of care each clinic offers to make sure it matches expectations. It doesn’t hurt to visit multiple clinics and have in-person consultations. You hope to find the one that you instantly click with and know that you are in good hands, which is how we felt after meeting with Dr. Maseelall at RGI.

Now that you are going through it, what would you say to others seeking help?

Go for it and highly consider applying to Samantha’s Gift of Hope as a patient with RGI. It’s also a good idea to look into every opportunity for assistance that is offered for each type of procedure. There are a lot of wonderful people and organizations who offer financial assistance for IVF. Apply for more than one and don’t give up.

What made you and your partner decide to seek help for infertility?

My husband Ryan has Cystic Fibrosis, which is a genetic disease affecting mainly the lungs and digestive system, but also comes with additional effects on the reproductive system. Around 98% of males with Cystic Fibrosis are unable to father children naturally due to a blockage within, or complete absence of, the Vas Deferens. We knew from the onset that the only way for us to have a child was going through IVF treatments.

How was your experience with the 100% Guaranteed Plan thus far?

The Guarantee Plan was a very smooth experience for us. We were glad to do the testing that came along with the program to ensure that I was as healthy as possible with the best chance of success. These tests didn’t take long and were easy to complete. We are happy to report that so far, we have had success with the very first transfer.
